DYA Baseball/Softball Youth Umpires

Registration for 2024 DYA Spring/Summer Baseball & Softball Youth Umpires begins January 1.

The information below is from the 2023 Spring/Summer season.

2023 Youth Umpires - Program Information

DYA Baseball/Softball Youth Umpires

The DYA Youth Umpires program is open to 7th-12th graders who reside in the City of Dublin or within the Dublin City School District boundaries.

Umpires work DYA Baseball & Softball League games.

2023 Spring season: Umpires work 3rd grade and older DYA Baseball & Softball Recreational League games. Regular season games begin April 29 and the postseason tournament concludes on June 28 for most leagues. Games are played weeknights (Monday-Thursday) and Saturdays at Avery Park in Dublin.

2023 Fall season: Umpires work 4th grade and older DYA Fall Baseball & Softball League games. The fall season is from September 5 through October 9. Games are played on weeknights (Monday-Thursday) at Avery Park in Dublin. Games begin at 6:15 PM. Late-season games played on fields without lights may begin as early as 5:30 PM to complete before darkness.

Additional information regarding training clinics will be e-mailed to all registered applicants.

Concussion Certification: Ohio Law requires all officials to be certified in concussion recognition. The free online certification course takes about 30 minutes to complete and is found at http://nfhslearn.com/courses/concussion-in-sports-2. Upon completion of the course, a certificate is issued. Concussion certification is valid for three years.
