2023 Boys Volleyball
3rd-6th Grade: March 6-May 13
7th/8th Grade: February 21-May 12
The DYA Boys Volleyball program for 3rd-8th grade boys takes place in the spring and consists of 3 divisions. Players must be registered to play with their grade level.
DYA Volleyball Divisions (2022-2023 school year):
MAC Division: 3rd & 4th Grade
Big Ten Division: 5th & 6th Grade
Middle School Division: 7th & 8th Grade
MAC & Big Ten Divisions:
Teams are scheduled for 9 practices and 8 matches. Weekly one-hour practices are held weeknights, Monday-Thursday, at 6:30 PM or 7:30 PM at Dublin City Schools elementary gymnasiums including Bailey, Hopewell, and Pinney beginning the week of March 6. Practice dates, times, and locations will be selected by coaches about one week prior to the start of the season. Matches are on Saturdays at 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM at Karrer Middle School beginning March 11. The season is scheduled to conclude on May 13.
Middle School Division:
Teams are scheduled for approximately 27 practices and 15 matches against neighboring communities plus a postseason tournament. DYA Middle School Division teams compete as part of the OCC Middle School Boys Volleyball League. Practices and home matches are held on weeknights at Dublin City Schools gymnasiums. Away matches are played in nearby communities. Teams practice 4-5 weeknights per week beginning the week of February 20. Matches are generally played on weeknights (mostly Mondays & Wednesdays) beginning March 15. Practices are held at Dublin Jerome High School and Depp Elementary School. Matches are played at Dublin middle schools and high schools. The regular season is scheduled to conclude on May 3. This division is limited to the first 20 boys registered (2 teams of 10 players). If more than 20 boys register, a wait-list will form and we'll explore options on adding a third team if there is enough interest.
Spring Break: There are no practices or matches during Dublin Spring Break (March 18-26).
Fees:
MAC Division fee is $100*, plus the cost of a uniform shirt, if you need one.
Big Ten Division fee is $100*, plus the cost of a uniform shirt, if you need one.
Middle School Division fee is $250*.

Uniform Shirt Information:
All players in the MAC Division (3rd/4th Grade) & Big Ten Division (5th-6th Grade) are required to wear the DYA Volleyball uniform shirt at matches. The jersey is the same as last year and is $20 to purchase.
DYA has team sets uniform shirts for the Middle School Division (7th/8th Grade). Uniforms are loaned to players and returned at the end of the season at no cost.
Equipment: Volleyballs are provided by DYA. Knee pads are highly recommended for all participants to avoid burns and bruises.
Picture Day: Picture Day is Saturday, April 1. Pictures take place at the school where your match that day is scheduled. The photographers kindly ask that you arrive 45 minutes prior to your team's start time to take individual photos. Team photos will be taken on the court immediately before your match begins. Photographers will have extra order forms available on Picture Day. Picture Day services are provided by Midwest Sports.
Medals: Participation medals are awarded to all 3rd-6th grade players at the end of the season.
Coaches Needed: Dublin Youth Athletics is a volunteer organization of parents providing sports programs for kids. If you are able and willing to serve as the head or assistant coach of your child's team, please register online by clicking "Volunteer" on your profile page at DYA.com.
Preseason Coaches' Meeting: The preseason coaches' meeting for Boys Volleyball will be held on Sunday, February 26 at 7:00 PM at the DYA Office (6543 Commerce Pkwy Suite G).
Preseason Coaches' Clinic: The preseason coaches' clinic for Boys Volleyball is scheduled for Monday, February 27 at 7:00 PM at Pinney Elementary (9989 Concord Rd).
Team Notification: 3rd-6th Grade families will be notified of their team placement, roster, and practice/match schedules a day or two following the preseason coaches' meeting.
Do you reside outside of DYA boundaries?:
This program is open to all families who reside within the boundaries of the Dublin City School District or within the City of Dublin. Out of boundary families may participate if there is space available in their child's division.
