Players are assigned or drafted at respective league meetings for each sport or league. Coaches are requested to contact players within 48 hours of the league meeting. Some coaches use e-mail and some choose to make individual calls. Others mail information to the player's parents. Regardless of the method, we respectfully ask parents to hold off a few days from the draft before panicking that you signed up and all your neighbors have heard, but you haven't. This can happen for a couple of reasons (we've asked when we get these calls). The most common are listed below: Most common: The league meetings are held on different days, sometimes different weeks or months (basketball meetings for grades 3-6 are held 4-6 weeks before the leagues for grades 7-12, as the latter must wait for school tryouts to conclude). Frequent: Coaches e-mail, but the email from a new address goes to SPAM folder. Frequent: Coaches e-mail, but the parents don't check the address submitted. Occasional: The coach (a volunteer, by the way) has business or family concerns to attend to and is unable to call within 48 hours. You can check your account after the league's meeting and click the team name under your child's name. A list of the players on the team, as well as the coaches' contact information will be available to you within 24 hours after the league meeting. We will check the voice mails more often after a draft, but please give the coach a chance to contact you before calling the office. A volunteer will take the messages and track down your child's team, but please remember that our volunteers also have full time jobs and families and will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.
